2007, Stephen Clark, Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds.

This paper looks at a range of over 20 ITS functions, with ten discussed in detail, to see how they impact on cycling and if they can be used to encourage cycling.

The paper demonstrates that there can be first and second order benefits for cyclists from ITS, if there is a will to implement them.

Some potential dis-benefits for cyclists as a result of ITS implementation are also highlighted.
