royal billboard

You may have noticed this billboard beside Ring Rd St George's, or read the articles on the council website  or in the Express & Star.

In brief, the former Royal Hospital buildings will be converted to flats and a cafe, new houses will be built on the previously cleared land.

Mike Jenkins went along to the public consultation event on behalf of WOW, and we discussed his notes at the last WoW meeting. The planning application has been received by the council and has now appeared on the planning portal of the council website. The application no. is 17/01209/FUL (NB You will have to press 'I Agree' to gain access).

We would like to see the importance of cycling recognised in this development and will be submitting a response to the council.

You can make your own comments via the planning portal and if you would like to contribute to the Wolves on Wheels response please send your ideas to:

chair AT wolvesonwheels.org.uk

Please put 'Royal Hospital' in the subject line.

Comments so far by WoW supporters:

Houses have gardens – pitched at families with children – roads need to be calmed.

(Cycle) Parking for employees as well as customers of cafe needed.

Maintain Cleveland St as a quiet route for cycling from Ring Rd to Bilston Rd.

Flats need a 'bike garage'
